Lights, Camera, Creation!

Do you have fun rolling the camcorder for home videos and church events? Well, your eye for excitement could win you free tickets to Creation 2008!

It works like this: you, your family, or your youth group create a music video using music from any Creation Festival artist (click here to see a list) and submit it to the Word FM for our Lights, Camera, Creation contest. Our listeners will vote on their favorites and those votes, tallied with the votes of the Word FM staff, will decide our winners in each category.

Don't dismiss this as a contest for only professional video-makers! There will be prizes awarded in a variety of subcategories that may include "Cutest Video," "Best Lighting," "Laugh Out Loud," and even "Most Creative." So you don't have to be a movie-making guru to win.

Whether it's your youth group performing a choreographed dance to Hawk Nelson's "Friend Like That," or your kids rocking out to "Breakfast" while eating, well, breakfast, we want to see it! Pull out that video camera or borrow one from a friend - you could be the undiscovered stars of Creation Festival 2008!

Some details:

1. All music videos are due by May 14 - no exceptions! Voting begins May 19 and the winners will be announced on a special Morning Show Awards Program on June 2.

2. All music videos should be five minutes or less and feature a song by a Creation Festival artist (see list). More than one song may be used, but the video may not be longer than five minutes.

3. All videos must star the individual, family, or youth group entering the contest - so you can't win with a cool video created by one member of the group. You all need to participate!

4. Videos can be submitted to the Word FM digitally by e-mailing us .wmv, .avi, .mov, or .mpg files or sending us a link to your video, uploaded onto YouTube. Please be aware that if you send us a link, people will be going to your YouTube account to watch your video and may see other videos you have uploaded. You may also send a "hard copy," (DVD) of your video to:

   All hard copies must be received by the Word FM by May 14, so please mail it nice and early. Entries will not be returned, so make sure you keep the original!
    

5. All submissions may be loaded onto the Word FM YouTube site and finalists will be featured on the Word FM website where the voting will occur.

6. Winners will be awarded in each the Youth Group (up to 25 tickets), Family (up to 6 tickets), and Individual (up to 2 tickets) categories. Please clearly mark all entries with your name or youth group name, address, phone number, and a contact person. Also mark which category you are entering (youth group, family, or individual) and how many tickets you would need. Subcategories will be determined based on volume and type of videos submitted.
