January 1: Genesis 1-3

Genesis 4:7: “If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?  But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.”

Genesis 26:24:  “I am the God of your father Abraham.  Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bless you and will increase the number of your descendants for the sake of my servant Abraham.”

Genesis 28:16-17: “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it. . . .  How awesome is this place!  This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven.”

Genesis 31:42:  “If the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had not been with me, you would surely have sent me away empty-handed.  But God has seen my hardship and the toil of my hands.”

Genesis 33:10-11:  “To see your face is like seeing the face of God. . . .  God has been gracious to me and I have all I need.”

Genesis 35:2:  “Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, ‘Purify yourselves. . . .  Then come, let us go up and build an altar to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and who has been with me wherever I have gone.”

Genesis 39:21:  “The Lord was with him; He showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes [of those around him].”

Genesis 41:38:  “Can we find anyone like this man, one in whom is the spirit of God?”

Genesis 45:7-8:  “God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance.  So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God.”

January 28: Genesis 46-47

Genesis 47:31: “Israel worshiped as he leaned on the top of his staff.”

January 29: Genesis 48-50

Genesis 50:19-20:  “Don’t be afraid.  Am I in the place of God?  You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”

January 30: Exodus 1-3

Exodus 3:14-15:  “God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM. . . .  This is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.’”

January 31: Exodus 4-6

Exodus 4:31:  “When [the Israelites] heard that the Lord was concerned about them and had seen their misery, they bowed down and worshiped.”
