December 1: 1 Corinthians 9-11

1 Corinthians 9:22-23: “I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.  I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.” 

December 2: 1 Corinthians 12-14 

1 Corinthians 13:12-13:  “Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.  Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.  And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love.  But the greatest of these is love.” 

December 3: 1 Corinthians 15-16 

1 Corinthians 15:58:  “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm.  Let nothing move you.  Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 

December 4: 2 Corinthians 1-4 

2 Corinthians 4:7-9:  “We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.  We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”

2 Corinthians 12:9-10:  “[God] said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’  Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. . . .  For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 

December 7: Acts 20:1-3 & Romans 1-3 

Romans 3:22-24:  “This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.  There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” 

December 8: Romans 4-7 

Romans 5:6-8: “You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.  Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” 

December 9: Romans 8-10 

Romans 8:38-39:  “I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” 

December 10: Romans 11-13 

Romans 12:1-2:  “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.  Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” 

December 11: Romans 14-16 

Romans 15:5-6:  “May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 

December 12: Acts 20:4-23:35 

Acts 21:13-14: “Then Paul answered, ‘Why are you weeping and breaking my heart?  I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.’  When he would not be dissuaded, we gave up and said, ‘The Lord’s will be done.’” 

December 13: Acts 24-26 

Acts 26:22-23: “But I have had God’s help to this very day, and so I stand here and testify to small and great alike. . . . that the Christ would suffer and, as the first to rise from the dead, would proclaim light to his own people and to the Gentiles.” 

December 14: Acts 27-28 

Acts 28:30-31: “For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him.  Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ.” 

December 15: Colossians & Philemon 

Colossians 3:1-4: “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above. . . .  For you died and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” 

December 16: Ephesians 

Ephesians 6:12: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” 

December 17: Philippians 

Philippians 4:8: “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” 

December 18: 1 Timothy 

1 Timothy 4:12: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.” 

December 19: Titus 

Titus 3:4-5: “But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.” 

December 20: 1 Peter 

1 Peter 4:11: “If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God.  If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.” 

December 21: Hebrews 1-6 

Hebrews 4:12-13: “For the word of God is living and active.  Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.  Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight.” 

December 22: Hebrews 7-10 

Hebrews 10:22-23: “Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.  Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” 

December 23: Hebrews 11-13 

Hebrews 12:1-2: “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.  Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.” 

December 24: 2 Timothy 

2 Timothy 1:7-8: “God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline.  So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord.” 

December 25: 2 Peter & Jude 

2 Peter 1:5-7: “Make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.” 

December 26: 1 John 

1 John 3:16 &18: “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.  And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. . . .  Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.” 

December 27: 2 John; 3 John 

3 John, vs 11: “Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good.  Anyone who does what is good is from God.  Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.” 

December 28: Revelation 1-5 

Revelation 5:12-13: “In a loud voice [the angels] sang: ‘Worthy is the lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!’” 

December 29: Revelation 6-11

Revelation 7:15-17: “They are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple. . . .  Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. . . .  For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water.  And God will wipe every tear from their eyes.” 

December 30: Revelation 12-18 

Revelation 14:4-5: “[The redeemed] follow the Lamb wherever he goes.  They were purchased from among men and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb.  No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.” 

December 31: Revelation 19-22 

Revelation 22:20:  “He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’  Amen.  Come, Lord Jesus.”
